Oriana Garcia currently serves as the Chief of Staff and Vice President of Organizational Development at BakerRipley acting as a strategic adviser to the CEO and Senior Management team. She plans and directs all administrative, financial and operational activities for the President’s Office. Prior to this role, Garcia led the agency’s Community Based Initiatives Division. As Senior Director, she managed the division’s $10 million budget, overseeing program innovation, development and implementation at six community centers providing low income families with access to adult education, youth programs, and small business development initiatives.
Garcia has been with BakerRipley since 1998. During her tenure she has played a key strategic role in the expansion of services, including three capital campaigns, the opening of three new community centers and the development and implementation of the agency’s internationally-recognized strength-based approach to community development known as Appreciative Community Building.
Most recently, when BakerRipley was asked to set up a shelter at NRG for 8,000 neighbors displaced by Hurricane Harvey, Garcia served as the Site Director overseeing all operations and logistics.
