Here at BakerRipley, we know there are many forms of welcome. Through our New Neighbor School we’ve served over 100 students since 2011 in K-5th grade. In the 2015-2016 school year, the school had 11 countries represented and 13 native languages spoken.
These students are a part of our larger network of Promise Community Schools but the focus in this classroom is to bridge the language, literacy and skills gap that many students face when they first come to this country.
Parisa Behzadi our New Neighbor teacher in the video above recently received an alumni award from Teach for America for her work with our smallest, new neighbors.
We strive for excellence along with our students and seek to include people of all ages who desire to learn, earn and belong. Watch the video above to understand more about the work we do at our New Neighbor School.
